How to create a Youtube ad
Depending on your goal, you can use different ad formats built for YouTube. These ad formats are:
Creating a Youtube ad can take only a few minutes, let’s focus on skippable instream ads. These can range from 12 seconds to six minutes and they feature a countdown timer on screen, as well as a link to the brand website.
Step 1. Upload your content
Simply log in your brand’s Youtube Channel and click ‘Upload Video’. Make sure you write an effective description involving keyword research, and linking to your website and other social channels.
Step 2. Create your campaign
Once you click create a new campaign you can then choose your goal from the options below.
And your campaign type which will be video.
You will then have the option to change your campaign subtype. For skippable instream ads select ‘video reach campaign’ and ‘efficient reach’ before pressing continue.
Step 3. Confirm the details of your campaign
Follow the process to name your campaign, confirm your budget, duration, location and languages.
Step 4. Add related videos
Related videos will offer an immersive video experience to help your ad’s message. They appear below your video ad to help increase engagement. Have a search on Youtube for 5 videos that you think will work well for this. Note them down and enter them here.
Step 5. Create your ad group
Fill out your ad group name then move on to demographics. Really think about your audience here and who you want to be targeting. What gender and age are they? And you can even direct your ad specifically to parents.
From there, enter your keywords and placement (this may take a little research on your end) but once done it is quick to enter.
Step 6. Create and publish your ad
Go back to step 1 and locate your Youtube video. All you need to do is copy the URL and paste it in the box below. You can also include your call-to-action and your headline here.
Et voila! Now press create campaign and you’re good to go!
