1. Create a TikTok marketing strategy
All great marketing efforts start with a comprehensive strategy. Before applying the techniques you need to start with the basics questions such as “who are my audience?” and “what am I trying to achieve?” Once you know the answers to these questions you can begin setting yourself up with an account ready for all your great content!
2. Repost UGC
User generated content (UGC) is essential when trying to grow your presence on social media. It allows your brand to build trust with your audience, sharing how others use, feel and enjoy your product. By reposting this content onto your feed you can even persuade those who haven’t taken the plunge to purchase your product. Trust takes time, and with a little nurturing, guidance and trusted reviews you’ll get there.
3. Go live
Going live on any social media connects you with your audience in real time which is extremely valuable when growing your audience.
Another driving force many creators go live on TikTok is for money. The people watching your live stream can send you ‘gifts’ which you then redeem for cash.
As long as you are within the TikTok guidelines you can live stream about pretty much anything. Go live showing off your new product or simply show a snippet of your day or behind the scenes action!
4. Hop onto trends
TikTok is built on trends including popular music, sounds or creative dances – your business needs to hop on them. Taking part in the ever changing list of TikTok trends is a surefire way to get you more views and with more views comes a wider audience – winning!
Many small businesses saw an overnight boom in their revenue just by utilising these trends and it doesn’t have to be hard. The trick is to put your own spin on it and show your personality! Have a face of the brand appear consistently in your videos, this type of content is well received and it will build trust straight away.
5. Create ads
TikTok released its ad platform back in 2019, attracting huge brands such as Nike to start advertising on their platform. If your target audience uses TikTok frequently, tapping into these ads is essential! By creating video content to pop up in their feeds your brand awareness will soar.
Create an ad from 5-60 seconds that will show up in your audience’s For You feed. For each ad you’ll have your video, brand name, ad copy and a display image.
6. Show off your personality
Showing your brand personality is a tried and true method for increasing revenue so what are you waiting for! Get stuck in and don’t be afraid to push the boundaries of what you think is “professional”. Even in typically serious industries showing a little fun and humour won’t hurt. If you want to become successful on the platform then you need to loosen the reins.
Take RyanAir, their TikTok efforts have racked up almost 10 million likes! They’ve done this through showing a personality that resonates with their audience. The videos aren’t polished and they just have fun with it. They’re a great example of harnessing the power of TikTok for business!
7. Pick the right hashtags
To use or not to use is the question playing on creators mind. Well, we’re here to tell you to use it! Hashtags work to increase your organic reach which is extremely valuable for your business. But, you need to pick the right ones.
Opt for niche hashtags that are used consistently but not too frequently (e.g. 100 times a day) and that are relevant for your business.
8. Collaborate with TikTok influencers
Finally, our last piece of advice is to utilise the power of TikTok influencers. Exactly like instagram influencers, these public figures have the know-how to increase your revenue overnight. When choosing someone to collaborate with, watch out for their engagement rate. Sometimes someone with a large following won’t be worth your time, money or effort as the audience doesn’t actually engage with their content.
